Holiday Cookie Tips

Many recipes have their own tips but here are a few tricks that we find helpful to keep in mind for all cookies:

• Most cookie dough can be frozen for up to 3 months. If you are just baking for your household this year, you’ll likely need less. Think about saving some of your cookie dough so you can take it out and bake a few fresh baked cookies as you are ready throughout the winter.

• Use parchment paper on your cookie sheets. This will make cleanup a breeze.

• Store your baked cookies in a zip top bag with parchment paper between the layers to prevent the cookies from sticking together.

• For cutout cookies, roll the dough out directly onto a piece of parchment paper sprinkled with confectioners’ sugar. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and remove the excess dough. Transfer the parchment paper directly onto a baking sheet and put it in the oven.
